The bent-over cable lateral, also known as the cable rear lateral raise or cable reverse fly, is a strength training move targeting the rear deltoids, upper back muscles and the trapezius muscles. To perform this exercise, one should stand mid distance between two cable towers, move body forward while holding the cables and bending the knees slightly, ensuring the back is straight and maintaining a neutral spine. The cables can be adjusted and held in a variety of ways depending on the desired focus of the exercise. Puling the cables out to the sides, keeping arms straight or slightly bent, squeezing the shoulder blades together and then slowly lowering the cables back to their starting position is the motion that works the targeted muscles.
