Pygeum (Pygeum africanum, syn. Prunus africana) bark contains phytosterols, including beta-sitosterol; pentacyclic triterpenoids (ursolic and oleanic acids); and the ferulic esters of long-chain fatty alcohols such as docosanol and tetracosanol.
