In case of overdose, seek professional assistance or contact a Poison Control Center immediately. WARNING: When a child or infant is taking iron, stools may appear darker in color. This is to be expected and should be no cause for alarm. When drops containing iron are given to young babies, some darkening of the membrane covering the baby's teeth may occur. This is not serious or permanent nor does it affect the enamel of the teeth. If this darkening or staining occurs, it may be removed by rubbing the baby's teeth once a week with a little baking soda on a small cloth.
