DO NOT use Red Yeast Rice if you • are pregnant, can become pregnant, or are breast feeding (unborn and developing children need proper amounts of cholesterol for healthy growth and development); • have undergone an organ transplant or major surgery within the past six weeks; • are under 20 years of age; • have active liver disease or history of liver disease; • consume more than 2 drinks of alcohol per day; • are allergic to soy or rice products. It should not be taken in combination with grapefruit products or prescription cholesterol lowering drugs.
